Ink and Tissues

I made this card a short while back for my friend. I wanted to create a mixed image so I used Tim Holtz tissue wrap over an inked area then stamped a scene on another area of the card. Using Tim Holtz distress inks and aqua tint inks by Spectrum noir. A combination of wild honey spun sugar and peacock feathers with faded jeans. Stamps used are by Inkylicious. To highlight I used Sakura gel pens in white. The wording is also a stamp by Inkylicious and thought it just perfect for my friend who was leaving our place of work. She would and is very much missed.

More Inkylicious

 

I have been collecting Inkylicious stamps over the past couple of years. I love them, they are easy to use and stamp clearly every time I use them. Some poly stamps can be too soft and will leave a line that makes the image look like its double stamped. With these there are no lines just a clear stamped image. For this scene I used Tim Holtz distress inks Fossilized amber, wild honey, spun sugar and stormy sky. The images were stamped using Archival ink coffee colour.
Also used a white gel pen and Sakura gel pen clear star for the shimmer of the sea.

Really had fun doing this little scene.

A Little bit Inky and Lavinia

Things are looking good I have actually blogged twice today. This is one of my favourite past times creating magical scenes. This one I used the brayer for the background, I am new to using this tool so please excuse the lines.. lol. Using Ranger Adirondack inks and Distress inks. I used Wild plumb then used Honey and Mustard for the moon with a little bit of Marmalade. The hills are done using Stonewashed and Stream. Fairy stamp is by Lavinia as is the mushrooms and stars. The leaves and twigs are by Inkylicious Stamps.. have to admit I do love their stamps. They are quite firm and leave a much nicer stamped image no double lines if you press too hard. This and most of my scenes are produced using watercolour paper much nicer to blend on.
I used a white gelly pen to add depth to the branches and mushrooms.

Inky Cards

It has been some time since I last wrote on my blog. Time goes way too fast and this is the last place I find myself at. I am enjoying working with inks and stamps especially using scenic stamps. I have used here a mixture of varied stamps, Sheena Douglass mermaid on the rock with Inkylicious branches and grasses. Inks I used Tim Holtz distress ink for the background and to colour the mermaid. I also used Spectrum noir sparkle pens clear shade as it suits all over any part, no need to change colours. The shimmer does not show very well on this card which is a shame for it does look much nicer in person. I hope to post more of these scene cards on here, I also upload them to my pinterest pages. So until the next time...

More Art on Hearts

This time I covered the hearts with white Gesso using 2 coats. Then stamped images onto it with black Archival ink. I used Aqua tints to colour the images and distress inks. I added a little wording to the lighthouse one and some shells from a bag of odds and ends. Finally completed by using a gold buffet paint then polished.
These are great to work on and have kept me crafting for days.

Art on Hearts

Recently I made a wall hanging decoration for a friend. Using MDF
in the shape of a heart. I was given some napkins with a sea theme and
used just 2 layers placing onto the heart using pva glue. Then rolled it over so that there were no wrinkles. I found a nice digi stamp I had laying around and used this for the mermaid girl. Using a sequin shell for her hair decoration, this was actually clear so needed to add some colour, I used alcohol inks with a hint of acrylic green and some perfect pearls to add more shimmer. I used pro markers and some Aqua tints to colour the stamp figure. Finally finding a nice brass disc with Believe on it to finish I used distress inks to darken the edges of the heart. Using fibres to match the colours and a Greek handmade bead to attach the fibres these hang down holding a few of he clear shells and a few beads to finish. Really enjoyed making this heart and was a perfect gift to a lovely lady.

Moment in Time

Recently I demonstrated in a group I admin on Facebook the use of oil paints. I chose to work on a waterfall and this was the end result. The painting is on canvas board. Using Windsor and Newton oil paints.

I love the group we have a great bunch of artists some experienced and some learning where others enjoy to watch but do not craft.

Before I demonstrated this oil I had not painted for about 6 years or more but soon got back into using them again. I hope to do more in the future as well as my normal crazy crafting stuff.

Mini Bottles

I thought I would have a little play with making

mini bottles. This was my finished product.

With a combination of glitters and gem stones.

One is Jar of Hearts and the other is Dream

Bubbles. I found placing dry items into the bottle much more magical looking than using liquids, such as clear glue glitter and beads and gems. I found after some time the glitter sank to the bottom of the bottle and at some point did not move at all. The dry effect was more everlasting.

I enjoyed making these bottles and added a little charm to each of them.

Garden of Senses canvas

My latest mixed media canvas, relating to the Summer garden. As Summer is ending now I wanted to add a bit of Autumn. I really miss the garden in the Winter the warmth of the sun and birds in the waterfall. Inspired by the music of Vangelis Album page of life with the song Garden of Senses. The Canvas has a multi effect using tissue paper, chipboard shapes, modelling paste and much more. I used Tattered Angels spray ink Meadow green with a hint of white acrylic paint to give it the softer colour. For the darker shades of Pinks I used a blend of Raisin alcohol ink with white acrylic paint and perfect pearls clear. Some of the flowers are made in air drying clay others are of paper.

Little 'Love Nest'

A plain wooden hanging bird house, I thought when I see it I can do something with these. I added some embossed paper using my tree carving folder for the main part, then added die cuts for the roof. Added some plain white roses with a die cut leaves think it was from the Tim Holtz range for the pine cone. I found a little wooden bird and attached. Gesso all over then added some tattered angels shimmer spray in green and cranberry. I used Pinflare pearl wand to make the tiny beads.

The bird I used a mix of cranberry shimmer spray with Artiste blush pearlised acrylic paint, made by Do crafts.

Enjoyed this little project completed by attaching ribbon to hang with a pretty bead.
